School Vision Statement

St. Mary Cathedral School Vision 

 

Vision: The manner in which one sees or conceives something.

 
With this in mind seeking to maximize the God-given talents of each child, 
the following is the vision of St. Mary Cathedral School.
             
Relationships
    def: A particular type of connection existing between people related to or having dealings with each other.
 
Every student will develop:
•  A personal relationship with the Lord.
•  A positive relationship with each other, their school, their families and their community.
•  Respect for themselves, their family, each other and God.
•  A desire to serve God by serving others.
 
Opportunities
   def: A good chance for advancement or progress.
 
Every student will have the opportunity to:
•  Succeed academically. 
•  Pursue the development of their talents whether in the arts, athletics or scholastically.
•  Receive a post secondary education at the school of their choice.
•  Receive in post secondary scholarship money an amount equal to or greater than their family
financial investment at St. Mary. 
 
Environment
   def: The circumstances, objects, or conditions by which one is surrounded.
 
Every student will be provided an environment that:
•  Is safe and nurturing.
•  Is superior academically and supports each student’s individual academic needs.
•  Families share commonalities of faith, morals and values.
•  Offers open communication between families, staff, administration and rector.
•  Encourages an atmosphere where parents are actively involved in the education process.
 
Culture
   def: The set of shared attitudes, values, goals and practices that characterize an institution or organization.
 
Every student will have the ability to:
•  Connect with previous generations to create a lasting legacy.
•  Respect and preserve the tradition of the school.
•  Understand the importance of faith in education and in society.
•  Develop the traits of positive leadership and self discipline, the ability to be morally and
 
ethically responsible citizens.
