Educational Background: Back in sixth grade I knew I wanted to be an Art teacher. I had the worlds best Art teacher growing up in Posen, MI. I attended Central Michigan University and received my Bachelors of Science Degree. I then attended Saginaw Valley State University to continue my education.
Classes you teach: I am the new Art teacher and I am blessed to teach Pre-K through eighth grade Art.
Family Details: I have been married to my wonderful husband for almost twelve years. We have two amazing children, Emma is three and Ethan is five. We are new to the Gaylord area and have really enjoyed it so far.
Favorite Special Treats: I really enjoy Andes mints, vanilla iced coffee and anything from Panera Bread.
Favorite Color(s): Navy blue and hot pink.
Favorite Bible verse: Corinthians 13:4-8 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.
Classroom Mission Statement or Guiding principals: My Mission is to open students eyes to the beauty around them. Art is a very strong tool when tying core subjects together. I believe every child has the ability to create wonderful art . My favorite saying is Effort Matters Most, as long as you are open to try new things, you will succeed.
"I taught K-12 Art for the last nine years. I am blessed to work at St. Mary's. My family is very happy to have moved to such a wonderful town." ~Lisa Hopp
