Eagles Aerie #1825, Gaylord Ladies Auxiliary #1825: Applicant must be a
family member of a Gaylord Fraternal Order of Eagles #1825 or Ladies
Auxiliary #1825 at least two years and in good standing. Please see
Mrs. Torsky for an application packet. There are four $500 scholarships
available applications are due April

Scholarship: $750 local scholarship,

Michigan
State
Troopers
Assistance Fund Scholarship. See Mrs. Torsky for
application form. To apply, students must have a current GPA of 3.25, a
copy of their completed FAFSA, completed application and an essay
outlining your accomplishments and community involvement that
demonstrates leadership.
2007-08 Bishop’s Christian
Service Award: The Diocese of Gaylord
presents the Bishop’s Christian Service Award to two graduating seniors
from each of our four Catholic High Schools. The Diocese of Gaylord
also presents the Award to four high school seniors, who do not have
the opportunity to attend a Catholic High School because of where they
live in the Diocese. The awardees receive $1000, plus an individual
plaque. To be considered for this award, students must be
registered in a Catholic parish and participate in the weekly Sunday
Eucharist. The application and necessary accompanying documentation
must be filled out and returned to the Diocese of Gaylord by April 14, 2008. Please see Mrs. Torsky for
an application.
Otsego
Memorial
HospitalAuxiliary
scholarship forms are available from
Mrs. Torsky. These scholarships are available to seniors from Otsego
County high schools who are going into the hospital health care field.
Applications are due by April 30,
2008.
LAWRENCE
TECH is hosting another
Exploration Day on April 4 from 8:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Students
can select three different interactive sessions to learn about majors
they are interested in. Several engineering fields are represented as
well as Interior Design, Architecture, Transportation Design and many
more! See Mrs. Torsky or visit www.ltu.edu/futurestudents
to register or for more details. I can also register groups for you if
you’d like!
REMINDER TO ALL
SENIORS: Make sure to keep track of
scholarship application deadlines. Many scholarships require letters of
recommendation – be sure to give your references plenty of time to
compose a letter for you. Also, ask them if they would like you to
include a summary of your accomplishments to remind them of your
qualifications. Good luck with your applications; remember to ask for
help if you need it!
High school juniors and
seniors can experience a college
biology course in a field setting and EARN COLLEGE CREDIT from Central
Michigan University. July 14 – August 1, 2008. See Mrs. Torsky or Mrs.
Grief for more information.

application packet. You can also access information at www.collegeboard.com.
Gaylord Community
Productions, Inc. is pleased to offer
students the chance at a $500 Rotary Theater Grant. One Rotary Grant
will be awarded in the amount of $500 with up to $1500.00 additional
grant money awarded by GCP. Any Otsego County resident age 12 or older
may apply. See Mrs. Torsky for an application.
The Skrocki
Foundation has a renewable scholarship available for members
of the four Catholic parishes in the Boyne City/Boyne Falls area.
These parishes are St. Matthew in Boyne City, St. Augustine in Boyne
Falls, St. Joseph in East Jordan and St. John Nepomucene of Praga in
East Jordan. Students must have a minimum GPA of 2.5. Application
deadline is June 15, 2008. Interested students can pick up an
application from Mrs. Torsky.
